Temple vs Wake Forest Military Bowl Betting Pick & Prediction

Wake Forest took a dive-bomb into the postseason, turning a 5-1 start into a 6-6 finish. Temple (10-3) won their first American Athletic Conference title, thanks to a 34-10 thumping of Navy in the conference title game. This is Wake Forest’s first bowl game in five years, while Temple is playing in their second straight bowl game. Take a look at our research on this game as well as our college football betting odds on the rest of the bowl games this year.

Temple vs Wake Forest Military Bowl Betting Pick & Prediction

Radio: Temple / Wake Forest

NCAA Football Odds: Temple (-11.5), O/U 40.5

Why should you bet on the Owls?

Behind quarterback Phillip Walker’s two scoring passes, Temple dominated Navy on the offensive side, scoring touchdowns on their first three drives. It is worth noting that Navy was missing starting quarterback Will Worth after the second quarter, thanks to an ankle injury that ended his season, but Temple’s offensive balance, which also featured tailbacks Jahad Thomas and Ryquell Armstead, should be able to move the ball up and down the field against Wake Forest. Temple has won 10 games in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history and earned their first conference championship since their Middle American Conference way back in 1967.

Why should you put your money on the Demon Deacons?

The only reason even to consider taking Wake Forest in this game would be a mammoth line favoring the Owls, but an 11 ½-point spread isn’t that significant. Their running defense has been decent this year, as they give up just 155.9 yards per game. Given that Temple has posted 31 rushing touchdowns this season, Wake Forest will have their hands full. There is also the possibility that Temple won’t have as much motivation as Wake — which has been the problem for several other favorites in the bowl season this year — but I just don’t see Wake Forest stopping the Owls on offense, and they haven’t put together any sort of momentum to finish the regular season.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Owls to take the game right to Wake Forest early and keep the pressure on, much like they did against Navy in the AAC title game. I predict a final score of Temple 34, Wake Forest 16.
