The Utah State Aggies have won two straight games, but winning three in a row looks like an extremely tall task with the streaking Boise State Broncos rolling into town for a Week 7 Mountain West matchup that looks like a virtual lock for many NCAAF betting fans.

Boise State Broncos (5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS)

They’re putting up points like crazy – and shutting down the opposition as well! Boise State absolutely throttled Colorado State in its 41-10 Week 6 win to cover the spread as a 15-point road favorite. The Broncos got several big plays on offense as true freshman quarterback Brett Rypien completed 22 of 35 passes for 339 yards and one score and sophomore tailback Jeremy McNichols added 104 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries to boost his nation’s best TD total to 13.

Boise State also forced three turnovers in the resounding win while scoring first half touchdowns of 53, 56 and 85 yards. Rypien has posted the FBS’ fifth-best passer rating (175.9) with seven touchdowns, one interception and 10.16 yards per attempt.

“When you see a true freshman quarterback and see some of the things Rypien does, he’s really good,” Utah State head coach Matt Wells said.

Utah State Aggies (3-2 SU, 3-2 ATS)

They’ve played solid defense the last two games and are playing at home! Utah State has won two straight, including their emphatic 56-14 Week 6 win over Fresno State while covering the spread as a 13-point road favorite. Quarterback Kent Myers completed 18 of 25 passes for 260 yards with one touchdown while running back Devante Mays rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries.

The Aggies picked off Rams signal-caller Kilton Anderson three times in the win and have won 11 straight home games – since losing to Boise State 34-23 on Oct. 12, 2013.

Game Analysis: There’s not a whole lot of sense in beating around the bush with this Week 7 pick, since I’m firmly joining the 64 percent of the betting public that likes Boise State to win and cover the spread.

Boise State has won a dozen straight games against Utah State by an average of 27.7 points per game and 13 of their last 14 games against unranked opponents, making the outcome of this contest a virtual lock in my estimation.

While Utah State has posted an encouraging 4-1 ATS mark in their last five home games against a team with a winning road record, Boise State has gone 7-0 ATS in their last seven meetings against the Aggies, 4-0 ATS in their last four games and a near-perfect 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, making them the easy pick here for me!

A convincing 67 percent of the betting public likes the Over 47 Total points and again, I say this is an easy pick with Boise State scoring points like crazy the last few weeks and the Over going 4-1 in the last five meetings between these longtime rivals.

My Pick: Boise State 42 Utah State 27
