Pinstripe Bowl NCAAF Betting Preview

Written by on December 24, 2015

Indiana and Duke meet in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium this Saturday for some NCAAF betting action, with both teams looking to break long droughts in terms of wins in a bowl game. The Hoosiers finished 3-0 against the spread down the stretch, while Duke only covered once in their last five contests. Indiana is a two-point favorite.View full TV schedule here.

Why should you choose Indiana (-2)?

The Hoosiers ran out to a 4-0 start this season before dropping six games straight. However, four of those were by eight points or less against tough competition, including a seven-point loss to Ohio State, an overtime loss to Michigan and an eight-point loss to Iowa. Indiana was only down five to Michigan State before the Spartans broke off a huge rally to win 52-26. The Hoosiers recovered to win their last two, against Maryland and Purdue to gain bowl eligibility. They average 491 yards on offense and have scored at least 36 points on seven different occasions. They have a high-powered attack that could overwhelm Duke. It{s the Blue Devils against the Indiana!

Why should you bet on the Blue Devils (+2)?

Duke won six of their first seven games, losing only to a strong Northwestern squad. However, their eighth game saw them fall to Miami in a game that made the officials look awful, and the Blue Devils never recovered, dropping the next three to fall out of contention in the ACC. They did win against Wake Forest in the last game to finish 7-5 (4-4 ACC). They average 431 per yards on offense. Their strong offense for the year makes them a solid pick against an Indiana team that folded at times to superior attacks.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Indiana has the stronger resume from their play this season. Duke is 2-1 against the spread in their last three bowl games, but this is such a small spread that I’m going to take the Hoosiers to win and cover, 24-14.
