Posted by Ted Merrick on August 2, 2017 in

August is here, and the 2017 college football season is quickly approaching. The season has a ton of drama getting ready to unfold, and all the teams are seeking a chance to play in the national title game. We have put together some of our betting thoughts, and are ready to release our Nine Top Bets for the Season, with the latest College Football odds to choose from.

Nine Top Bets for the 2017 College Football Season

Clemson Tigers UNDER 9.5 wins

DeShaun Watson is gone for the defending National Champions. Sure, the Tigers have been running through the Atlantic Coast Conference, but with Florida State, Louisville and Miami being better, and Virginia Tech and North Carolina having a great option, taking the UNDER 9.5 wins seems to be the best bet here.

Ohio State Buckeyes OVER 10.5 wins

The Buckeyes are going to run the table in the regular season. Yep – we said it. The Ohio State Buckeyes are going to run the table in the regular season. Sure, they have some big tests. For example, the Oklahoma Sooners early, and the Michigan Wolverines late. But, the odds are great for this team getting to 11, and 12 certainly seems do-able.

Oklahoma Sooners OVER 9.5 wins

Who else is going to beat the Oklahoma Sooners outside of the Ohio State Buckeyes? Look at their schedule and let us know who that team is going to be. The Big 12 is not as good as they want to think they are, and the Sooners still have a great roster of players. Oklahoma will look like they did not skip a beat without Bob Stoopes in 2017.

Illinois Fighting Illini UNDER 3.5 wins

Look, the Fighting Illini are the laughing stock of the Big Ten. This program has gone no where fast lately. Lovie Smith is getting so much love as the head coach, but this team is still no good. The non conference schedule may find a couple wins, but don’t look for the Orange and Blue to win more than a game in Big Ten play.

Kansas Jayhawks OVER 3 wins

We are going to make this one pretty simple for you: Southeast Missouri, Central Michigan, Ohio and Texas Tech. Book it.

Are the Jayhawks a safe bet this 2017 College Football season?

Florida State Seminoles 11/10 to win Atlantic Coast Conference

Jimbo Fisher has himself a team that is ready to win a conference title, and maybe a national title. The national title part is going to be a toss up, as they are likely going to have to face Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma and the other big time powers. But, Florida State is far and away the most talented team heading into the 2017 ACC season.

USC Trojans 11/10 to win Pac-12 Conference

The USC Trojans are going to be the real deal out of the Pac-12 this season. The Trojans will have to get past Washington, Stanford, Oregon and UCLA, but they are talented beyond belief. Look for the guys on the Southern Coast to win a bunch of guys and be playing for a chance to win the national title when January of 2018 arrives.

Oklahoma Sooners 10/1 to win national title.

Again – no Bob Stoopes. Again – a road game against Ohio State. But, if the Sooners can avoid a second bad loss, why would they not have a chance? Put their resume against the rest of the candidates, and it will look awfully good if they have just that one loss. Baker Mayfield and company, if they get in, have as good of a shot as anyone.

Sam Darnold 5/1 to win Heisman

Sam Darnold is the quarterback for the USC Trojans. The USC Trojans are going to score a bunch of points this season. The way they are going to score points is going to be through the passing game. Look for Darnold to put up some fantastic numbers. Darnold is the favorite at 5/1, while the defending champion at 8/1 is Lamar Jackson. Darnold seems like a great bet.

The College Football season is some of the best months of the calendar year. Betting on College Football is not only fun, but can be super profitable. Best of luck betting on college football, and we hope you have a great time watching all the action!
