NCAAF Betting: National Championship Analysis & Predictions Update

Written by on November 2, 2021

As we’re nearing the end of the regular season for college football, it’s time to start taking the odds to win the National Championship seriously. With the first set of playoff rankings due out on Tuesday, we’re going to have an even better idea of who the committee thinks belongs in the playoffs. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites and their most up-to-date odds to win the National Championship.

NCAA Football – Updated National Championship Odds

Georgia Bulldogs +120

Georgia has cruised through its first eight games, and we don’t see them being challenged until the SEC Championship game. Georgia’s defense could be the best defense ever, as they have yet to give up more than two touchdowns in a game. Until someone proves that they can score against Georgia, it’s going to be nearly impossible to beat them.

Alabama Crimson Tide +250

After Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M, the Tide seemed to become a different team. Since that loss, the Tide has crushed anyone standing in their path. As long as they can win out, we’ll see a clash between them and Georgia in the SEC title game. And even after that game, we could see those two play again for a National Championship.

Ohio State Buckeyes +600

With the playoff rankings due out on Tuesday, the Buckeyes are the biggest wild card. They could fall anywhere from #3 to #7. Since losing to Oregon, the Buckeyes offense has taken off. CJ Stroud and company have put up points in bunches. Dates with Michigan State and Michigan stand in their way, but if they win those two and can win the Big 10 title game, the Buckeyes should have a spot in the Top 4.

Oklahoma Sooners +1200

Under Spencer Rattler, the Sooners were winning, but it wasn’t pretty. Since Lincoln Riley handed the team over to freshman Caleb Williams, the Sooners have looked like a different team. He has brought an excitement to the offense, and he has revitalized the Sooners. If they can win the Big 12, it’s going to be hard to keep them out of the playoffs.

Cincinnati Bearcats +2500

The undefeated Group of 5 team knows that it has to be nearly perfect to stay in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs. After beating Notre Dame, the Bearcats were in a great spot. However, they have had some hiccups that last couple of weeks, and haven’t looked as good. We’ll see where the committee puts them if they win out. They could end up on the outside looking in.

Michigan State Spartans +3000

Many predicted that the Spartans would be near the bottom of the Big 10 standings, but Mel Tucker had different thoughts. The undefeated Spartans are coming off of a huge come-from-behind win over the Michigan Wolverines, and have shot up the polls. A date with Ohio State  is still looming, but if they can win that, and then win the Big 10 title game, there’s no doubt that the Spartans will be in the playoffs.
