Texas State Hosts ULM As 7 Point Favorite in NCAAF Odds
This Thursday, the Texas State Bobcats (2-7) host the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (1-9) down in San Marcos, Texas. The Bobcats are 7-point favorites to win this match in the latest NCAAF Odds. On the other hand, the Warhawks are on an eight-game losing streak and most recently lost at home, 59-21, to Arkansas State. The team simply has not put enough points on the board or earned the stops that they needed.

Arkansas State went on a 24-0 tear in the second half made a close game into a laugher, as Louisiana-Monroe coughed the ball up five times. Quarterback Earnest Carrington struggled for the Warhawks, completing only five of 19 passes for 75 yards and a touchdown – but also a costly pick-six. Marcus Green caught four of those five completions for 56 yards and the lone touchdown through the air. Ben Luckett did have a nice game for the Warhawks on the ground, running for 149 yards and a touchdown.
Texas State will also be completing their season hoping for a better 2016. They have dropped three straight, most recently a home loss to Georgia State, 41-19. Quarterback Tyler Jones went 29 for 51 for 267 yards and a score, but also two picks. C.J. Best, Ryan Carden and Brandon Smith caught 18 combined passes for 193 yards. Robert Lowe rumbled for 88 yards on the ground and a score, while Jones added 62 yards on the ground.
When the Warhawks have permitted more than 280 yards through the air in their previous contest, the over is 4-0 the last four occasions. However, the under is 7-1 in the last eight games after the Warhawks have permitted over 40 points. Against the spread, Louisiana-Monroe is 1-6-1 in those same eight games. When the Bobcats have lost straight up by over 20 points, the under is 4-0, and the under is also 4-0 in the last four games when the Bobcats have gained over 450 yards. The Bobcats are 0-4 against the spread after they have allowed 280 yards or more through the air.
Betting Odds Trends
- Louisiana-Monroe is 1-5-1 ATS in its last 7 games
- Louisiana-Monroe is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games
- Louisiana-Monroe is 2-3-1 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
- Louisiana-Monroe is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games on the road
Texas State Bobcats
- Texas State is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games
- Texas State is 1-6 SU in its last 7 games
- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Texas State’s last 5 games
So for now, even though Louisiana-Monroe is going on the road, I will take them and the points. I don’t see Texas State having what it takes to beat anyone by a touchdown, which is what it would take this week. This isn’t the most exciting pick on the college board, but if you love regional Texas and Louisiana college football and want to make a bet, I’d go with Louisiana-Monroe.
