Florida at Arkansas Week 10 Betting Pick & Prediction

Posted by Peter Boysen on November 3, 2016 in

The #10 Florida Gators head to the Ozarks to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in SEC action on Saturday afternoon. Florida comes in on a high note after beating Georgia on the road a week ago, 24-10. Arkansas comes in off their bye week, which they sorely needed after taking a 56-3 pasting from Auburn in Week 8. These two teams don’t play every year because they are in different SEC divisions, but when they last met in 2013, Florida won at home, 2013. Check out all of our college football betting picks for this weekend.

Why should you put your money on the Gators?

Over the past two seasons, the Florida Gators have built an ironclad defense, and they showed up again in Georgia last week. The offense also performed well — a far cry from those single-digit games last year. Quarterback Luke Del Rio went 15 for 25 for 131 yards and a touchdown (and a pick). His numbers are not spectacular for the season, but he has played the role of a game manager effectively. Florida only has nine turnovers all season, which has played a major roel in their scoring 29.4 points per game.

The Gator defense has only permitted 11.7 points per game this season, second-best in the nation. Given that the Arkansas offense did not make double figures against Auburn a week ago, the Gators could send them to a second straight week of futility.

Why should you bet on the Razorbacks?

The Razorbacks had an awful week on both sides of the ball last week. Quarterback Austen Allen only threw for 187 yards and had a pick, and tailback Rawleigh Williams III picked up just 22 yards on 13 attempts. Their defense permitted 543 rushing yards, including seven rushing scores. Both of those went against their season trends to this point, but Arkansas has had ups and downs on defense so far this season, permitting 31.4 points per game (#88 in the nation).

If you bet on the Razorbacks, you like their offense to kick it back into high gear and their offense to do just enough to frustrate Florida. You also like the home crowd of Razorback fans to work the magic that they have brought so many other times before to slow the Gators down.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Arkansas to put up a big fight in this game at home, but I also like Florida to impose their will on the game and push to a victory. I predict a final score of Florida 24, Arkansas 20.
