Cincinnati Bearcats 2020 in Review
Cincinnati put together an undefeated regular season and took home the American Athletic Conference Championship title. The 9-0 regular season mark pushed the Bearcats national ranking to 8th in the country and top Group of Five team under fourth-year head coach Luke Fickell.
Cincinnati fell on a last-second field goal to the Georgia Bulldogs (24-21) in the Peach Bowl. The New Year’s Six bowl appearance was the first for the Bearcats in the College Football Playoff era.
Cincinnati Bearcats Odds for 2021
The Bearcats are +8500 to take home the national title. The Bearcats have the best odds of any Group of Five team.
Cincinnati’s AAC schedule is favorable for another perfect record. The Bearcats host UCF, Tulsa, and SMU and won’t face Memphis during the regular season. Cincinnati’s win total project is 10, with the over and under both at -115.
Cincinnati Bearcats 2021 Schedule
The first thing you’d notice glancing at the Bearcats’ 2021 season is a pair of challenging non-conference games against Indiana and Notre Dame. Both of these contests will be on the road and back-to-back with a bye week in between.
Cincinnati’s conference slate shakes up nicely for the Bearcats. Memphis, one of the top conference teams last season, isn’t on the Bearcats’ regular-season schedule. Tulsa also went undefeated in conference play in 2020 and lost to Cincinnati in the AAC title game. Cincinnati gets the Golden Hurricanes at home.
UCF and SMU also will travel to Nippert Stadium to battle the Bearcats. Cincinnati kicks off the season on September 4th with a home bout against Miami (OH).

2021 Season Prediction
The Bearcats should roll into Bloomington with a 2-0 record before facing the Hoosiers. Cincinnati returns enough talent to challenge Indiana on the road and give the Fighting Irish a challenge two weeks later. A win versus either of those teams gives the Bearcats a statement victory and enhances their chances of a playoff bid.
Once through the non-con portion of the schedule, the Bearcats should be favored in every matchup. With Fickell in command and the returning AAC Player of the Year in quarterback Desmond Ritter, expect Cincinnati to begin the season highly ranked and stay there for most of the season.
