The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl features the Florida State Seminoles and the AAC champion Houston Cougars. The two teams meet on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve at the Georgia Dome. Florida State is favored to win by 6.5 points. The Seminoles finished 5-0 against the spread and hope to continue that trend when they see the Cougars. Click here for NCAAF betting lines.

Why should you pick the Cougars (+6.5)?

Houston ran out to a 10-0 start, beating four teams who would qualify for bowl games and going 6-4 against some fairly salty point spreads. They were upset at Connecticut but then came home and routed Navy in the last game of the regular season, 52-31, to take the West Division. They then won the AAC title game over Temple, 24-13. In that championship game, Houston outrushed Temple 233-98, with quarterback Greg Ward galloping for 148 yards. They are #13 in the nation in rushing — and #12 in rushing defense. They should be able to manage the Seminole offense and do plenty of ball control and scoring of their own.

The Houston Cougars always hunt for turnovers.

Why should you bet on FSU (-6.5)?

The Seminoles came into the 2015 having lost 11 players to the NFL draft, including their quarterback, Jameis Winston. They never really got into CFP talk this year, particularly after losing to Georgia Tech. However, they did have a strong 10-2 season (8-4 ATS), with double-digit wins over North Carolina, Flroida and Louisville. They had the #5 scoring defense in the nation, permitting only 15.8 points per game. They finished the season 5-0 against the spread, going 4-1 straight up with their only loss coming to Clemson.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Houston is a solid team, but the Seminoles have a much more impressive resume of wins this season. I like the Seminoles to win and cover, with a 27-17 victory over the AAC champs.
