Arizona State has a 3-0 record on the young season, while Cal comes in 2-1. Check out all of our online sports betting lines for the coming weekend.

Why should you bet on the Golden Bears?

Cal followed up a disappointing loss to San Diego State with a dramatic win over the Texas Longhorns, prevailing 50-43 in a barnburner. Davis Webb was spectacular, throwing for 396 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winning score late in the fourth quarter. Vic Enwere had 110 yards on just 18 carries, scoring two more touchdowns. Chad Hansen had two of those touchdown receptions, hauling in a dozen balls overall for 196 yards. In three games, Hansen has 40 receptions for 546 yards and five scores. The problem for Cal is their defense, because while they score 47 points per game, they give up 40.

Why should you put your money on the Sun Devils?

Arizona State seemed to be headed for a big upset at the hands of UT-San Antonio last week, as they entered the fourth period behind, 28-15. However, they stormed back to score the last 17 points of the game, including a score by Kalen Ballage to take the lead with just three minutes left. The Sun Devil rushing attack piled up 205 yards in that game, as their passing game struggled — Manny Wilkins went just 15 for 31 for 264 yards. He did throw two touchdown passes but also had an interception.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The numbers don’t lie: Cal is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record, and they are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 contests after a SU victory. The Sun Devils are 1-5 ATS in their last six home contests against a team with a winning road record. Even so, the problems that Cal has on defense have me convinced that Arizona State will keep up with their offensive output. I predict a 27-24 victory for the Sun Devils.
