NCAAF Betting: Top Games of the Weekend Sept. 26
The COVID-19 pandemic is still causing issues in college football. With some teams having to cancel games, and others having players unavailable due to the pandemic, the young season has already seen its fair share of problems. With some teams having already played, while others have yet to kick their season off, it could be tough to determine how good a team actually is. We’re going to take a look at a few games where we think that you can make some money this weekend. Let’s get right to it so you can make your bets against their College Football odds.
NCAA Football: Top Games to Bet over Weekend (Sept. 26th)
Texas Longhorns at Texas Tech Red Raiders (+16.5)
Both teams come into this one 1-0. Texas started strong out of the gate with a 59-3 victory over UTEP. Heisman trophy candidate Sam Ehlinger threw for 426 yards and five touchdown passes.
While Texas made quick work of its first opponent, the same can’t be said for Texas Tech. The Red Raiders barely survived against Houston Baptist, pulling out a 35-33 victory. It looks like a lack of defense will once again be an issue for the Red Raiders.
If Houston Baptist is able to score 33 points against Texas Tech, how many points will Texas be able to score? Texas Tech has a nice offense, but it won’t be able to keep up with the Longhorns. We’re going with Texas in this one.
Florida State Seminoles at Miami Hurricanes (-11)
It has been a rough week for the Seminoles. Coming off of a loss to Georgia Tech in a game in which they were heavily favored, things didn’t start off well for the Seminoles.
Then things got worse, as their head coach Mike Norvell tested positive for COVID-19. And now they get to go to Miami to play the Hurricanes.
Miami looked good in last week’s victory over Louisville. Quarterback D’Eriq King could be the piece that Miami has been missing. With the Hurricanes’ offense firing on all cylinders and a defense that looks to be in pretty good shape, things could be tough for Florida State this week.
With all of the circumstances surrounding this game, things just don’t look good for Florida State. The Seminoles are 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven road games, while Miami is 4-1 against the spread in its last five ACC games. All signs point to Miami here.
Duke Blue Devils at Virginia Cavaliers (-6)
While the Blue Devils have two games under their belt, the Cavaliers haven’t played a game yet. Despite that, the Blue Devils aren’t coming into this one with momentum, as they have started the season 0-2.
Virginia will have a lot of pieces to replace on offense, as they lost a large number of starters from last year’s nine-win team. The good thing going for Virginia is that it should have one of the top defensive units in the country.
Duke is 2-5 against the spread in its last seven ACC games. Virginia is 4-1 against the spread in its last five home games.
Because Duke has struggled early on and has failed to win a game, we think it will struggle to score on a tough Virginia defense. We’re going to take the Cavaliers.
