NCAAF Betting: Top 25 Winners & Losers Dec. 3rd Edition
While there wasn’t a ton of movement near the top of the AP Top 25 poll, there were a couple of upsets that caused some movement in the poll. Let’s take a look at the winners and losers from this past weekend’s action, and see who moved up and who moved down in the AP Top 25 poll so you can keep betting against their NCAAF odds.
NCAA Football Top 25 Winners & Losers After Week 13
Winner: Iowa Hawkeyes
The Hawkeyes moved up to #24 in the poll. Although they won by a slim margin, the Hawkeyes won their fourth straight by beating Nebraska. They struggled early on, but have now gotten their footing and are looking like a top 20 squad.
Winner: Washington Huskies
The undefeated Huskies move into the top 25 and check in at #23 this week. Washington was down big and made a huge comeback to defeat Utah last weekend. Washington’s defense has been huge for them this season, and the offense is starting to step up their play as well. Washington sits atop the Pac 12, and are looking to stay there.
Winner: Iowa State Cyclones
By beating Texas the Cyclones moved up to #12 in the poll. After struggling to start the season, including a loss to Louisiana, the Cyclones have really turned things around, and now look like one of the top teams in the country. Unless things take a turn for the worse, the Cyclones have a spot waiting for them in the Big 12 Championship game.
Winner: Indiana Hoosiers
After their victory over Maryland, the Hoosiers moved up to #10 in this week’s poll. Even though they moved up, they still suffered a big loss, as quarterback Michael Penix is out for the season. Had Indiana been able to defeat Ohio State, they could’ve been looking at a potential playoff spot.
Loser: Oregon Ducks
After losing to Oregon State, the Ducks dropped to #21 in this week’s poll. Many saw Oregon as the Pac 12’s only hope at a potential playoff spot. Oregon has been hurt by many players opting out of this season, but they still had a team that was good enough to make some noise. Now they’re just playing to stay at or near the top of the Pac 12 standings.
Loser: Northwestern Wildcats
Northwestern was riding high after upsetting the previously unbeaten Wisconsin Badgers. The Wildcats went to East Lansing and the offense played poorly and they left with a loss, dropping them to #16 in this week’s AP poll. The Wildcats will need some luck if they want to get to the top of the Big 10 standings.
Loser: Texas Longhorns
After losing to the Iowa State Cyclones, the Longhorns dropped out of the Top 25. This season has been another disappointing season for Tom Herman and the Longhorns. Many thought that this would be the year that the Longhorns finally won the Big 12 and got a shot at a playoff spot. They’ve been playing undisciplined football with costly mistakes and untimely penalties. The biggest loser in all of this may be Herman, as the Texas brass may choose to go in a different direction at the end of this year.
