While COVID-19 has created some tough situations for college football, it has also brought on some pleasant surprises as well. With Liberty being unable to play at Coastal Carolina due to some positive tests, the undefeated BYU Cougars agreed to play the Chanticleers on short notice. The game that was put together in two days turned into one of the best games of the college football season. Let’s take a look at what teams moved up in the AP Top 25 poll, and what teams went in the opposite direction. Here are the winners and losers from last weekend’s college football action so you can continue to bet against their NCAAF odds.

NCAA Football Top 25 Winners & Losers After Week 14

Winner: Coastal Carolina

While many experts thought that BYU would leave this matchup undefeated, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers had other ideas. In a fantastic game, the Chanticleers stopped BYU just short of the goal line as time expired to take the victory. With the win, Coastal Carolina moved up to # 11 in the latest AP Poll. Coastal Carolina’s defense stepped up big to stop the high-powered offense of BYU. Coastal Carolina needs a Cincinnati loss to earn a spot in a New Year’s Six Bowl game.

Winner: Buffalo

Buffalo is the first MAC team to get into the Top 25 this season. The Bulls have enjoyed a very successful season, and have been putting up some huge offensive numbers. Their great season has earned them the # 24 position in this week’s poll. Running back Jarrett Patterson has been one of the best offensive players in the country. Unless something strange happens, the Bulls should enter the Bowl season undefeated.

Loser: BYU

With the loss to Coastal Carolina, the Cougars dropped to # 14 in this week’s poll. BYU really needed a win over the Chanticleers to show people that they were worthy of a New Year’s Six Bowl game. Zach Wilson was running for his life all day, and the Chanticleer running attack destroyed the Cougar defense. The Cougars had made it known that they were tired of being overlooked and disrespected, and they figured that this would be a win that would earn them some respect.

Loser: Oregon

With another loss, the Oregon Ducks have fallen out of the AP Top 25. Their loss to Oregon State was a huge upset, but many figured that they would rebound strongly from that loss. The California Bears also took it to the Ducks and made the season even worse for Oregon. Oregon had national championship aspirations prior to the season. Even though they had a few players opt out prior to the season, the Ducks still thought they had enough talent to get into the playoffs. Oregon still has a shot at getting into the Pac 12 title game, but even if they do, the season will still be deemed a disappointment.

Loser: Wisconsin

Even without their starting quarterback, the Indiana Hoosiers were able to beat the Badgers. With that loss, the Badgers dropped to #24 in this week’s poll. The Badgers offense has hit a rough spell, and their defense just couldn’t carry them to the win.
