Arkansas @ Texas A&M NCAA Football Week 4 Picks
AT&T Stadium in Dallas hosts a terrific college football odds matchup on September 24 when the Arkansas Razorbacks meet the Texas A&M Aggies. Last year, when the two teams met, the Aggies won, 28-21, in overtime, although the outcomes was swathed in controversy, as the Razorbacks scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, only to have the play called back by a tripping penalty. Both teams come into 2016 sporting new quarterbacks, but while the Razorbacks are still improving, the Aggies have gone through major upheavals, losing two quarterbacks and several other players after the regular season last year.
Analyzing My Expert NCAA Football Week 4 Razorbacks @ Aggies Pick
Why should you bet on Arkansas?
After the overtime loss to Texas A&M last year, the Razorbacks won seven of their last nine. One of those losses was a 13-point setback at eventual national champion Alabama, and the other was a one-point loss to Mississippi State in a shootout, 51-50. They beat a talented Tennessee team, Auburn, Ole Miss on the road (who was the only team to beat Alabama last year), LSU on the road in a shellacking, and routs over Missouri in the season finale and Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl. The Aggies ended last season in a tailspin, and I like Arkansas to come out with their guns blazing.
Why should you put your money on the Aggies?
Last season, the Aggies went into their bye with a 5-0 record, with an impressive 30-17 beating of Mississippi State in that fifth week. Then they lost to Alabama (no shame there), but then they didn’t win another competitive game the rest of the way, beating only the hapless South Carolina Gamecocks by a single touchdown, and then cupcake Western Carolina, and then SEC doormat Vanderbilt. Concerns about their offense sent not one but two quarterbacks transferring out, and so Kevin Sumlin has some major work to do in the off-season to make the Aggies competitive this year. If you’re betting on A&M, you think that Arkansas will be in chaos with a new quarterback, and the Aggies will somehow have their system back up and running.
My Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I like the Razorbacks to win this game, although their developing defense could make this a barnburner. I’m predicting a 38-28 Arkansas win.
