Fifth-seeded Virginia (23-10) has advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament to face fourth-seeded Florida (25-8) on Saturday night. The Cavaliers survived the best of UNC-Wilmington on Thursday with a 76-71 win. Florida held off East Tennessee State in the first round by an 80-65 tally. Let’s take a closer look at the latest NCAAB lines for the game.

Why should you bet on the Cavaliers?

Virginia has had ups and downs on offense this year, and the linchpin is senior London Perrantes. He got hot with his shooting touch, and Marial Shayok came off the bench to provide some needed scoring as well. Kyle Guy didn’t show the same range that he showed in the Cavaliers’ win over North Carolina down the stretch in the regular season or against Pitt in the ACC conference tournament. Also, Virginia is a team that shuts down the opposition with an ironclad defense — but they gave up 42 points in the second half against UNC-Wilmington. That can’t happen against Florida, because the Gators might have put up 55 against that same defensive effort. But with solid defense and shooting, the Cavaliers can make the Sweet 16.

Why should you put your money on the Gators?

Florida put itself in a hole by opening 0 for 8 from downtown, which is why it took them a while to get going against East Tennessee State. Florida is a run-and- gun team that likes to force turnovers and get on the fast break. Virginia likes to slow the game down to a crawl and win in the halfcourt game on both ends of the floor. If Florida can impose its own rhythm on the game, then the Gators have a real shot to take this game. It just took a five-minute swing against East Tennessee State, but the Gators have to keep the ball moving and avoid the middle, as they are softer inside than Virginia will be.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t think Florida can get through the dense thickets of that Virginia defense enough to take this win. I predict a final score of Cavaliers 66, Gators 62.
