Why should you bet on the Blue Demons?

I would only vote for DePaul in this game if you have a line of 20 or 25 points. Villanova fell to Xavier last week and is now in full revenge mode, trying to win voters back over in its case for a #1 seed in one of the brackets in the NCAA tournament. DePaul had a chance to kick the Providence Friars while they were down, as Providence had lost five of six and two in a row. However, they proved hapless against the Friars’ offensive attack. Even though the deficit was only six at halftime, Providence was able to impose their will on DePaul in the second half. I expect Villanova to do the same, perhaps even more emphatically.

Why should you put your money on Villanova?

Despite losing to Xavier during the week, Villanova remains in first place in the Big East, and they were able to take the ball away at will from the Marquette Golden Eagles. Villanova took the ball away 17 times, which was a big factor in their ten-point win. Daniel Ochefu dominated the inside for the Wildcats, scoring 18 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. The high-pressure defense by Villanova gave the team an 8-0 run early in the second half, and Villanova ended up getting 27 points off turnovers for the game. I like them to run DePaul ragged with that same pressure defense.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

When a contender is looking to make a case with the NCAA selection committee, teams like DePaul often get steamrolled in the process. I’m picking Villanova to win, 90-68.
