Toledo at Western Michigan Week 13 Betting Pick & Prediction

Posted by Peter Boysen on November 22, 2016 in

The Toledo Rockets (9-2, 6-1 MAC) head to Western Michigan to take on the undefeated Broncos in the regular season finale for both teams. With a win, Toledo can swipe the MAC West and likely knock Western Michigan out of a New Year’s Day Six bowl game. Toledo has won three straight and six of seven, but Western Michigan has won 13 in a row going back to last season. The Broncos stomped the Buffalo Bulls last week, 38-0, and look to continue that domination by finishing a 12-0 regular season. Take a look at all of our college football betting picks for this weekend’s exciting action.

Toledo at Western Michigan Week 13 Betting Pick & Prediction

When: Friday, November 25, 2016, 5:00pm ET
Where: Waldo Stadium, Kalamazoo, MI
Radio: Toledo / WMU
Live Stream: WatchESPN
NCAA Football Odds: Western Michigan (-9)

Why should you bet on the Rockets?

Last week, Toledo took on the Ball State Cardinals in some thick fog, which might have helped the Rockets’ Corey Jones take a 63-yard punt back to the house in the first quarter, but it didn’t keep quarterback Logan Woodside from throwing three touchdown passes for the Rockets. Toledo’s defense limited Ball State to 133 yards on the ground and swiped a fumble from Ball State as well. If they can do the same thing with Western Michigan’s running game, they can stay close in this one. Of course, the Broncos have a much better line than Ball State does, so this will be a tall order.

Why should you put your money on the Broncos?

As dominant as Toledo’s win was last week, the Broncos did even more damage to Buffalo. Zach Terrell threw four touchdown passes, throwing 13 passes just to Corey Davis (and two of those touchdown passes). The defensive line for the Broncos controlled scrimmage all day long, permitting just 268 total yards of offense. The Broncos bring a much more high-powered offense to the game than what Toledo saw from Ball State a week ago.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Western Michigan to complete their undefeated season by polishing off the Rockets at home. If this were on the road, I’d be more likely to consider the Rockets for at least a cover, but with the game at Kalamazoo, I like the Broncos to roll, 31-13.
