On Friday, the #23 Texas Longhorns venture north of the Red River to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 basketball action. The Longhorns (19-11) are in fourth place in the Big 12 standings but are coming off an 86-56 drubbing at home against #1 Kansas. The Cowboys (12-18) are in ninth place in the Big 12 standings and are coming off a 58-50 loss at #21 Iowa State. Get the updated NCAAB online betting lines for this game.

Why should you bet on the Cowboys?

I wouldn’t take the Cowboys in this one unless I got a line of at least 10 points. Oklahoma State has lost five straight conference games and eight of their last nine, with their only win coming at home against Kansas State. The Cowboys rarely get routed, but they simply are not winning. An example of this is their loss to Iowa State. At halftime, the Cowboys were only down by two points, and they only ended up losing by eight, but they didn’t have what it took to go over the top.

Why should you put your money on Texas?

The Longhorns are better than that 30-point loss against Kansas indicates. Before that, they had knocked off #3 Oklahoma by 13 and #10 West Virginia by seven. Shaka Smart has his team playing well on offense on most nights, but the game against Kansas just saw them shooting ice cold from the get-go. I don’t expect Oklahoma State to have nearly the same effect on the Texas offense, and I expect this to be a situation where the Longhorns take out some aggression on a weaker opponent after getting throttled at home.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I’m picking the Longhorns to win, and win big. My final score prediction is Texas 80, Oklahoma State 64.
