The TCU Horned Frogs (17-7, 6-5 Big 12) have won three straight in conference play to take a step onto the bubble of consideration for the NCAA basketball tournament. They head south on I-35 to take on the #6 Baylor Bears (21-3, 8-3 Big 12). TCU has reeled off wins at Kansas State and then at home against Texas and Texas Tech. Baylor beat TCU in their first matchup up in Fort Worth, 62-53, and recently bounced back from losses to Kansas and Kansas State with a 72-69 nailbiter of a win up at Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Check out all of our college basketball lines for this week’s games.

Why should you bet on the Horned Frogs?

Anything can happen in conference play in the Big 12, as such leaders as West Virginia, Baylor and Kansas have shown us this season. TCU has found some solid play lately, and freshman Jaylen Fisher has been a major catalyst, putting up a career best 17 points in the Frogs’ win over Texas Tech on Tuesday. J.D. Miller put up 15, making all four of his shots from downtown, including one to put the Horned Frogs ahead in the last two minutes. They are over .500 in Big 12 play for the first time in five years, and an upset win down in Waco would certainly put them on the map for March Madness consideration.

Why should you put your money on the Bears?

Baylor continues to show the ability to play crippling defense — as well as the tendency to let up on opponents too early. They were up on Oklahoma State by 13 points with just over four minutes to play, but then the Cowboys went to a press defense and were one layup away from taking the lead late, but Jo Lual-Acuil swatted Jawun Evans’ layup into the stands. Oklahoma State had several more chances to tie the game in the waning seconds but missed some looks from downtown. Johnathan Motley led the Bears with 24 points and 11 boards, but if you like them to beat a resurgent TCU squad, then you believe they can fix those problems that almost gave Oklahoma State an unlikely win.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the plucky Horned Frogs and their hard work toward their first March Madness bid in 20 years, but I don’t see them upsetting Baylor down in Waco. I predict a final score of Baylor 72, TCU 61.
