Why should you bet on the Cardinals?
The Cardinals had been struggling a bit to put away ACC opponents, but now they have won three straight, having polished off Syracuse in convincing fashion, beaten Duke and then knocked off Pitt on the road. The Cardinals might have the best defense in the entire nation. On offense, they got another team effort, with Quentin Snider, Damion Lee and Deng Adel all in double figures, and when the chips were down late in the second half, the Cardinals put the clamps on the Panthers, finishing the game on a 27-12 run. They appear to be moving back into the dangerous mode that they showed in the first half of conference play.
Why should you put your money on Miami?
If you thought that losing to North Carolina last weekend by 25 points (in a game where they trailed by as many as 38) they erased those doubts by polishing off the third-ranked team in the nation when Virginia came to town. As head coach Jim Larranaga said after the game, “We got knocked down big time on Saturday and you’ve got to get back up and fight to show what you’re made of.” Virginia did not go down easily, rallying from an eight-point deficit to close the gap to 6-50 with 1:22 remaining. Miami improved to 4-2 against teams in the AP Top 25 and will not be intimidated by Louisville.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I like how Miami rebounded to knock off Virginia, and I think they will continue that same strong play at home this Saturday. I’m picking the Hurricanes to prevail, 70-66.
