Why should you bet on the Hoyas?
The only way I put money on Georgetown here is if I have a line of 20 points. Villanova will be playing in the home of the 76ers instead of their on-campus arena, and the atmosphere will be extremely dynamic. Georgetown is in a tailspin and simply does not have the talent to keep up. Villanova is playing for one of the #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament, which means they will try to dismantle the Hoyas as thoroughly as they possibly can.
Why should you put your money on Villanova?
Don’t let that Villanova loss to Xavier last week fool you. The Wildcats are still one of the top three or four teams in the country, and Georgetown is definitely in the basement of the Big East. You’re not likely to get a straight up bet on this game, but I would give 10 or 12 points in this one. Having the game at the Wells Fargo Center instead of on campus means that the crowd will be bigger and louder, which will favor the momentum of the home team especially as they pull away.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I like Villanova to steamroll the Hoyas in quick fashion. I’m picking them to win, 92-70.
