Why should you bet on the Mustangs?

This is a prime example of the Angry Revenge Theory. SMU lost a winnable game against Connecticut and now comes home to take on a team down in the depths of the AAC standings. Nic Moore continues to pursue a second straight AAC Player of the Year title, and SMU looks to follow their recent pattern of following up losses with wins that take the opposition to the woodshed, and East Carolina is a ripe victim. Jordan Tolbert is finishing a solid senior year inside, and Shake Milton is growing as a freshman who should play well for the Mustangs for at least a couple more years.

Why should you put your money on East Carolina?

Well, take a look at the spread. Is it more than 15 or 20? Then consider the Pirates, maybe. After all, USF trounced them at home by 17, and USF is another AAC bottom-feeder. SMU beat USF by 34, on the road. So this is not going to be a close game. You might think about taking East Carolina if the spread is less than 20, but otherwise I’d either take SMU or move to a game that’s going to be a little closer. Obviously, if you can get straight up action on this game, take SMU if you’re not having to give up too much to get the wager.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like SMU to return home and deliver a whipping to the visiting Pirates. I’m picking SMU to win this game, 90-65.
