Every game in the Big 10 is a battle. This year, the Big 10 seems to be more balanced than ever. With numerous teams from the conference making at least one appearance in the Top 25, there are no pushovers in the Big 10. This Thursday, two of the top teams in the conference will clash, as the Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming match so you can bet against their College Basketball odds.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Preview

The 7th-ranked Buckeyes will travel to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to match up with the #8 Iowa Hawkeyes. Ohio State has steadily climbed up the rankings. They’ve had some huge conference victories, and are looking to extend their three-game winning streak. The Hawkeyes just broke a two-game losing streak on Tuesday night, as they survived a tough Michigan State Spartans team. Prior to playing Michigan State, Iowa had lost to Indiana and Illinois.

The Hawkeyes will be looking to get over their shooting woes, as they’ve struggled from the floor over the past few games. Between their subpar shooting, and teams keying more on stopping Luka Garza, Iowa’s offense has slowed down. Combine their struggling offense with a defense that has had trouble stopping everyone all season, and that leads to losses. Iowa is giving up nearly 75 points per game. Iowa has one of the most efficient offenses in the country, and if they can get back to where they were earlier in the season, then things will go well for Fran McCaffrey’s squad.

Ohio State has quietly snuck up on the Big 10 and has made some noise on the national scene

The Buckeyes are coming off of victories over Wisconsin, Penn State, and Michigan State. This game will have a strength vs. strength matchup as Ohio State’s perimeter defense is tops in the Big 10. Iowa has surrounded national Player of the Year candidate Luka Garza with some great perimeter shooters, so this will be a matchup worth watching.

These two teams are very evenly matched. Both teams have four losses. Iowa is 9-1 at home this season, while Ohio State is 4-3 when not playing in Columbus. As of this writing, a spread on the game has yet to be released. We see the Iowa Hawkeyes being favored anywhere from 3-5 points. If this is the case, the Hawkeyes are 8-2 against the spread at home, while the Buckeyes are 3-3-1 against the spread on the road. As a favorite, the Hawkeyes are 12-2 straight up.

As we’re drawing nearer to the end of the Big 10 season, every game is crucial in the race to win the conference. As these two teams come into this huge game they both know that they can’t afford another conference loss. With the Michigan Wolverines sitting atop the Big 10 with just one loss, neither team can afford to fall further in the standings. With Iowa being 2.5 games behind Michigan, and Ohio State three, a loss will really damage their title hopes. With this game being so crucial, we should see both teams pull out all of the stops on Thursday night.
