In a game that could be titled the “Battle of the Bears”, Central Arkansas Bears will travel to Waco, Texas to take on the #2 team in the nation in the Baylor Bears on Tuesday night. Central Arkansas has had a rough start to the season, bringing a 1-6 record into this contest. Baylor thus far is undefeated, sitting at 6-0. Let’s have a look at both teams and how they arrive to this matchup so you can set down your bets against their NCAAB odds.

NCAA Basketball Betting Analysis – Central Arkansas at Baylor

Many experts see Gonzaga and Baylor being on a level all by themselves. These two teams were scheduled to meet earlier in the season, but COVID issues within the Gonzaga program caused the game to be cancelled.

Drew’s Team Scoring Machines

Baylor has been an offensive juggernaut this season. They’re averaging just over 93 points per game on the season. They’re shooting at just over 50% as well. They are taking it to their opponents. Their smallest margin of victory this season has been 13 points, and that was over Illinois who was the #5 rated team at the time that they played.

Baylor has five players averaging over double figures. They’re led by MaCio Teague who averages 15 points per game, along with five assists. They’re so well balanced that a different player leads the team in each of the main statistical categories. Teague leads in points. Jaret Butler leads the team in assists, Tavion Mitchell is the steals leader, and the leading rebounder for the Bears is Johnathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua.

Baylor is one of the most athletic teams in the country. Defensively, they have the ability to switch every screen, and they pressure the ball as well as any team in college basketball. Although they’ve given up some high point totals this season, a lot of that has to do with the fact that they put in subs late in the game.

Big Underdogs

As for the Bears of Central Arkansas, the season hasn’t gone the way they were hoping. Due to COVID-19 issues, their first four games were cancelled. They then started their season with a six game losing streak. In their defense, many of the losses were to Power 5 teams and teams that have the potential to land in the NCAA Tournament. Their losses have come to: Memphis, St. Louis, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Little Rock. Their lone victory on the season was a blowout victory over Champion Christian College, a team that doesn’t belong to the NCAA, but belongs to the National Christian College Athletic Association.

Central Arkansas is 4-2 against the spread this season. Central Arkansas has had some large spreads this year, but Mississippi, Mississippi State, Memphis, and Little Rock were unable to cover those numbers as Central Arkansas played better than expected. The Arkansas spread was 24.5 with the Razorbacks barely covering with a 25-point win.

Baylor is a 34.5 point favorite in this one, and the Bears are 6-0 against the spread this season. Other than the Illinois game, they have won every game by at least 30 points. They have covered every spread easily. This team is dominant in every category, so we’re looking for the oddsmakers to start making adjustments to the lines, making it tougher for the Bears to continue to cover.
