Why should you bet on the Nuggets?

The Nuggets have spent a lot of time losing this season, but their recent streak (winning four of five) suggests that they are finding their way, and one of the biggest reasons is point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. He dropped 30 points on the Suns in their win on Thursday, going 13 for 20 from the floor. In the last five games, he is averaging 21.6 points and has no fewer than 15 points over that stretch. Also, center Jusuf Nurkic, who missed the first 33 games of the season after knee surgery, is finding his way back into the lineup. If he can be the big man that the team needs, the Nuggets could improve quickly.

Why should you put your money on Washington?

The Wizards are a befuddling team sometimes. They’ll blow out a reasonably talented Pelicans team by 20, and then lose to an injury-riddled Bulls team. They’ll beat Cleveland by 14, and then turn around and lose to them by 25. Led by John Wall, this is a tough, tough group, which is why they took Portland to overtime in their last meeting, but they are missing the key elements of a group of finishers. Against a team like Denver, they should be able to impose their will. But will they?

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Nuggets to win this game, especially the home advantages of a supportive crowd and high altitude. I’m picking Denver, 111-108.
