The Washington Wizards (46-29) head to Utah to take on the Jazz (46-29) on Friday night. The Wizards saw a four-game winning streak end in Los Angeles, as the Clippers pulled out a 133-124 barnburner on Wednesday night. The Jazz have won two in a row, including a 112-82 shellacking of Sacramento on Wednesday night. Let’s take a closer look at the NBA odds between these teams.

Why should you bet on the Wizards?

The Wizards looked a little tired on Wednesday night, playing a back-to- back a night after knocking off the L.A. Lakers and clinching the team’s first division crown since 1978. John Wall put up 41 points and Bradley Beal chipped in 27, but they simply could not keep up with the frenetic pace of the Clippers’ offense. Washington normally plays a more ironclad defense and plays at a somewhat slower clip, but the Clippers just had too much speed. In Utah, Washington will find a Jazz team that is more their tempo, but can they overcome the fatigue of playing at altitude after two draining games in Los Angeles?

Why should you put your money on the Jazz?

Even with guards George Hill and Raul Neto (and forward Derrick Favors) out with injuries, the Jazz were able to pull off a 30-point rout on the road. They opened the game with a 34-14 first period that set the tone for the night. Shelvin Mack came off the bench with 14 points and five deflections on defense, sending things the other way for some key transition baskets. Rudy Gobert had another terrific game inside, putting up 16 points and 14 rebounds. They play a swarming defense that will take advantage of any hesitation on the other side, and they will face a road-weary Washington squad.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I am very impressed by Washington’s big run in the second half of the season, but this is a tough Utah team, particularly at home. I predict a 108-104 Jazz win.
