The Raptors are still one of the best defensive teams in the NBA — and they showed that against Milwaukee. In the first, third and fourth quarters, they only permitted 60 points to the Bucks. The problem came in the second quarter, when Milwaukee dropped 41 on the Raptors, behind 14 points in the period from Spencer Hawes. DeMar DeRozan had a hard time on offense, not getting into double figures until the game was virtually over. He has faced a lot of defensive intensity during the absence of Kyle Lowry (wrist). This was the second night of a back-to- back for New Orleans — and Salt Lake City’s high altitude makes it a tough road gym for teams who played the night before, and every time the Pelicans inched closer, Utah would nail another three-ball.
