Do you enjoy online betting on the NBA? Then take a look at this matchup — the Toronto Raptors (37-26) head down to the Crescent City to take on the New Orleans Pelicans (25-39). The Raptors dropped a 101-94 decision in Milwaukee on Saturday night. The Pelicans fell in Utah to the Jazz, 88-83, on Monday night. Can the Pelicans make their acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins pay dividends and turn them into a player in the West? Let’s take a look at the NBA spreads for the game.

Why should you bet on the Raptors?

The Raptors are still one of the best defensive teams in the NBA — and they showed that against Milwaukee. In the first, third and fourth quarters, they only permitted 60 points to the Bucks. The problem came in the second quarter, when Milwaukee dropped 41 on the Raptors, behind 14 points in the period from Spencer Hawes. DeMar DeRozan had a hard time on offense, not getting into double figures until the game was virtually over. He has faced a lot of defensive intensity during the absence of Kyle Lowry (wrist). It didn’t help that DeMarre Carroll had to leave with an ankle sprain as well. But they have shown resiliency this year, and they head south to take on a Pelicans team with plenty of questions of their own.

Why should you put your money on the Pelicans?

The dynamic duo of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins ran into the buzz saw known as Rudy Gobert up in Utah. He put up 15 points and 15 boards — and swatted two shots. While Davis (20 points and 12 boards) and Cousins (15 points) got into double figures, they were not the dramatic factor that the team had hoped for yet. This was the second night of a back-to- back for New Orleans — and Salt Lake City’s high altitude makes it a tough road gym for teams who played the night before, and every time the Pelicans inched closer, Utah would nail another three-ball. If you like New Orleans against Toronto, you see the two big men having a huge night and DeRozan continuing to struggle for the Raptors.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Pelicans’ acquisition of Cousins, but they are not at the Raptors’ level yet. I predict a final score of Toronto 101, New Orleans 93.
