Toronto at Detroit NBA Betting Preview, Lines & TV Info

Toronto holds the third seed in the East right now, while Detroit needs every win they can get to try and sneak into the bottom rung of the playoffs. The Pistons have dropped six of seven and nine of 10, though, so things are getting desperate. They fell in Milwaukee, 108-105, in overtime on Friday night. The Raptors have won two in a row and eight of nine, most recently beating Philadelphia at home, 113-105, on Sunday night. Check out the latest NBA lines and game preview below.

Why should you bet on the Raptors?

The Raptors have had their issues this season, but they appear to be rounding into playoff form at just the right time. DeMar DeRozan had a 40-point night last week, and then when the Raptors knocked off the 76ers on Sunday, he had a season-high nine assists, providing offensive balance. Kyle Lowry (wrist) continues to stay on the shelf, so DeRozan has to find openings against stiffer defensive opposition and keep distributing. Serge Ibaka dominated the interior, posting 24 points and six blocked shots. A similar focus on balance should serve the Raptors well as they go south to take on the Pistons.

Why should you put your money on the Pistons?

Detroit showed both their best and worst sides in their overtime loss to the Bucks last Friday. They were down by 18 in the first period and then had a 10-point lead in the fourth period, but Milwaukee was able to roar back to tie the game, erasing that deficit in the last five minutes, and force the extra frame. Tobias Harris led the Pistons with 23 points. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 17 for a team that many consider to be swirling the drain as far as playoff hopes go. However, they will have had five days off before the Raptors come to town and should have plenty of energy for the fight.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t see Detroit reversing a losing trend against the hot Raptors at this point. I predict a final score of Toronto 104, Detroit 96.
