On Friday night, the Denver Nuggets host the San Antonio Spurs in NBA online betting action. The Nuggets (32-47) are in fourth place in the Northwest Division and just fell at home to Oklahoma City, 124-102, on Tuesday. The Spurs (65-12) are in first place in the Southwest Division and took a close game from the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, 88-86. The Spurs face the Golden State Warriors in Oakland on Thursday before heading to Denver on Friday.

Why should you bet on the the Spurs?

I would be careful with this game. I could see Spurs coach Gregg Popovich resting some or all of his starters for this one, the night after the team plays in Golden State. Denver is a tough place to play for road teams because of the altitude, and on a back-to-back coming after a game against the top team in the West, it would make sense here. So take a look at the game notes on this; at this writing, Pop hasn’t announced his lineup plans, but I would keep an eye on this. If the Spurs play at full strength, they shouldn’t have any problems with the Nuggets.

Why should you put your money on Denver?

With a full-strength roster, I probably would not pick Denver unless the line were over a dozen, and even then I might move to a different game. Emmanuel Mudiay is developing into one of the more intriguing point guards in the game, but he’s still a ways from being an elite player at that position, and the rest of the Nugget team is developing as well.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

If the Spurs are at full strength, I’m predicting a 104-86 San Antonio victory. If the Spurs rest their starters, I’m predicting something much closer — but the Spurs will still come out on top.
