San Antonio at Houston NBA Playoffs Betting Lines Game 6

For much of Tuesday night’s game between the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs, it looked like the Rockets were going to be able to do just enough to beat the Spurs at their own game — playing a defensive, grinding style. The fourth period was a classic on defense (and missed shots) from both ends, as the Rockets won the period 16-15 — but then the game went to overtime. The Spurs’ Danny Green, on in relief of the injured Kawhi Leonard, outscored the Rockets all by himself in overtime, and the Spurs hung on for a 110-107 win to take a 3-2 series lead. Game 6 is set for Thursday night in Houston. Who will have the NBA lines in their favor in Game 6?

Why should you bet on the Spurs?

Houston is probably the better offensive team in this series, but San Antonio is better at making adjustments and getting stops at just the right time. Danny Green’s heroics are just one example; the ageless Manu Ginobili hustled to get a block on James Harden’s three-point attempt that could have sent the game to a second overtime. Leonard vows to return for Game 6, but a team that is already missing Tony Parker (torn tendon) for the rest of the postseason can’t handle too many more injuries to key contributors. If you like the Spurs, you think the Rockets will lack composure after that difficult loss and will resort to having Harden jack up shots from all over the place, much like he did in Game 3.

Why should you put your money on the Rockets?

James Harden had a triple-double (33 points, 10 boards, 10 assists). He also played uncharacteristically fierce defense, helping to limit LaMarcus Aldridge and Leonard, but it looked like that extra effort fatigued him, as he turned the ball over four times and went just 1 for 6 in the last five minutes of the fourth period and overtime. Putting Harden on Aldridge or Gasol helped the Rockets get their speed advantage up and running, but the Spurs were able to match them. If you like the Rockets, you think they’ll be able to get back to that balance they showed in their convincing wins in Games 1 and 4.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I still think the Rockets have the higher ceiling of these two teams, but I also think the Spurs are better at making adjustments on the fly. So I see the Spurs winning the series, but Houston will push them the distance, winning Game 6 119-107.
