San Antonio at Golden State NBA Playoffs Betting Odds Game 2

Posted by Aaron . on May 15, 2017 in

The Golden State Warriors host the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of their Western Conference final on Tuesday night. The Spurs took a 25-point lead shortly after halftime in Game 1, but then the Warriors came all the way back for a 113-111 win. The Spurs saw Kawhi Leonard go down with an ankle injury yet again, and the Warriors saw their chance and mounted the comeback. It’s going to be a great game, so don’t miss out on the latest NBA betting preview.

Why should you bet on the Spurs?

The Warriors came out flat in Game 1 — and the Spurs made them pay. Golden State definitely showed some signs of rust, turning the ball over and bricking shots, and the Spurs led 30-16 after one period and 62-42 at the half. So if the Warriors come out distracted again, the Spurs will make them pay. LaMarcus Aldridge had a huge night with 28 points and eight rebounds. Kawhi Leonard had 26 points and eight boards, big numbers considering he left early in the third period after re-injuring his ankle. If Leonard can return, and if the Warriors come out flat again, the Spurs have a shot. Otherwise, you saw what the Warriors did once Leonard had to leave — storm back from a 25-point deficit in less than a half of basketball to win.

Why should you put your money on the Warriors?

Once the Warriors woke up, they showed why they are one of the dominant offenses in the NBA. Stephen Curry put up 40 points and nailed a three-ball to tie the game with 1:45 left in the fourth period. Draymond Green gave the Warriors the lead they would hold to the end with a three-point play in the waning seconds. Kevin Durant scored 34 points, including a part of the fourth period when he scored 10 points in a row. Zaza Pachulia got into the mix, putting up 11 points and nine boards.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

There is no better coach in the NBA than Gregg Popovich, especially when it comes to making the right lineup for any situation. Without Kawhi Leonard, though, the Spurs can’t stay with the Warriors competitively. Even with Leonard’s ankle tightly taped up in Game 2, it’s hard to see him playing with that same creativity and energy. I predict a 118-111 Golden State win in Game 2.
