Why should you bet on the Mavericks?

Dallas has won three in a row — and in each win they’ve tallied more than 120 points. The last time they accomplished that was in 2004, when their lineup still had Dirk — but had Michael Finley and Steve Nash instead of Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews. As they close out a six-game homestand, the team appears to be firing on all cylinders on offense. Even Zaza Pachulia was dominant, tallying 17 points and pulling down ten boards. The key for the Mavericks has been an adjustment to maintain their spacing on offense and give the penetrators their space — and the results have been dynamic.

Why should you put your money on Sacramento?

The Kings need a strong road trip if they are to have a prayer of making the playoffs, and their start in Oklahoma City was not promising, as it was their third loss in a row. DeMarcus Cousins did score 35 against the Thunder (along with grabbing a dozen rebounds), and Rajon Rondo had 11 points, a dozen assists and nine boards. However, Rudy Gay (right shoulder) missed the game and is questionable for the Mavericks game as well. Rondo had a notorious split with Mavs coach Rick Carlisle last season, though, so revenge might drive Rondo to have an outstanding game. Also, Cousins could punish the Mavericks on their relatively soft interior.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Mavericks to continue their hot scoring trend against a Kings defense that is often quite suspect. I’m taking Dallas in this one, 121-114.
