They have won 8 of their last 9, including a 111-102 win at Indiana over the weekend. Why should you bet on the Knicks?

Right now, the Trail Blazers are red-hot, having won 16 of 20 games, while the Knicks appear to be in a tailspin. I would not take the Knicks in this game unless I could get a double-digit line, because they don’t appear to have found their way yet under interim coach Kurt Rambis. It is true that the Trail Blazers could make this a little of a trap game by overlooking the Knicks, who are a high-energy, young team who can make people pay for underestimating them. So if you can get that kind of line, take it. Otherwise…

Why should you put your money on Portland?

It’s hard to convince me to bet against Portland these days. Damian Lillard just dropped 33 on the Indiana Pacers, and the Trail Blazers are well on their way to becoming a strong contender in the West this postseason. Lillard has scored 30 or more in five straight games, just the second Trail Blazer ever to accomplish that feat. His offensive rhythm has struck early in games (20 in the first quarter against Indiana, 15 in the first quarter against the Bulls), helping his teams jump out to leads that they simply refuse to relinquish down the stretch.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Portland is simply playing too well for this young Knicks team to keep pace. I’m picking the Trail Blazers to win in steamroller fashion, 110-95.
