The Golden State Warriors staved off elimination in Game 5 by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder, 120-111, after losing consecutive games for the first time all season in Games 3 and 4. The Thunder still hold a 3-2 lead in the series as the games shift back down to the Sooner State. Find the latest NBA betting lines here.

NBA Playoff Preview: Golden State Warriors at Oklahoma City Thunder, Game 6

Why should you bet on Golden State?

Stephen Curry rebounded from a couple of subpar performances in Oklahoma City to post 31 points on the Thunder, with the home cooking inspiring better shooting on his part. Curry also added six assists, and Klay Thompson dropped 27 on the Thunder. The Warriors used their momentum to power through an Oklahoma City team that was not as intense on defense as they had been in the previous two games, which the Thunder won by a combined 52 points. If Golden State can keep this offensive momentum going in Game 6, they have an excellent chance of hosting Game 7 on Monday.

Why should you put your money on the Thunder?

Despite losing this game, the Thunder really don’t have much to worry about. Their dynamic duo of Kevin Durant (40 points) and Russell Westbrook (31 points, 8 assists, 7 boards and 5 steals) worked their magic, playing in a hostile gym against a team with its collective backs against the wall. Chesapeake Energy Arena is a loud gym in its own right, and there’s no reason to think the Thunder won’t be back on fire defensively once they are back in their own arena.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Thunder to ramp things up again and show that defensive intensity that shut down the Spurs and brought them wins in Games 1, 3 and 4 in this series. I’m predicting a 120-114 Thunder win.
