How To Bet On The Phoenix vs Houston NBA Spread

Written by on April 6, 2016

On Thursday night, the Phoenix Suns visit the Houston Rockets in NBA online betting action. The Suns (20-58) are in fourth place in the Pacific Division and just fell in Atlanta, 103-90, on Tuesday night. The Rockets (38-39) are in fourth place in the Southwest Division and just beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 118-110, on Sunday. Houston takes on the Mavericks in Dallas on Wednesday before returning home to face the Suns.

Why should you bet on the Suns?

Frankly, it would take a 12 or 15-point line to make me even think about taking the Suns in this game. They struggle to score points, and they don’t defend well, so they get a lot of beatings by a lot of points. In the Atlanta loss, the Hawks fell asleep as the Suns built up a 13-point lead in the third period, but then they woke up in plenty of time to reverse the margin and end up winning by 13. Phoenix just can’t get stops when they need them, and other teams are feasting as a result.

Why should you put your money on Houston?

Now that the Rockets have their playoff backs against the wall, they seem to be playing with a little more resolve on the defensive end of the floor. They’ve gotten plenty of scoring all year long from James Harden, but when he dropped 41 points on Oklahoma City on Sunday, he took his game to a new level. If the Rockets can beat Dallas on Wednesday night, they will move past them into the seventh playoff position in the West and will be motivated to spank the Suns on Thursday. If Dallas wins, Houston might fall into a bit of a tailspin and could be more vulnerable to an upset than they might otherwise be.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

No matter what happens in Dallas on Wednesday, I see the Rockets winning this game big. I’m predicting a 120-104 Houston win.
