Why should you bet on the Thunder?
Given the history that these two teams have, it is hard to justify taking the Thunder straight up in this one. In the team’s last meeting at Golden State, the Thunder jumped out to a big lead early, only to see the Warriors take a big lead of their own. The Thunder roared back in the fourth period but could not catch back up. On Saturday, the two teams met in Oklahoma City, and the Thunder led much of the way, only to see Steph Curry bring the team back to tie and send the game to overtime. In the extra frame, Curry knocked down a 35-foot three-pointer with 0.6 seconds left to seal the win. I would take the Thunder with five or six points, bu that’s about it, because the Warriors have to be in the Thunder’s heads right now.
Why should you put your money on Golden State?
I’m picking Golden State against just about anyone these days. I would even give the Thunder three or four points because I think that, after two furious efforts that have come up just short, the Thunder may have a Warrior-monkey on their backs. The Thunder did take out their frustrations on a fairly bad Kings squad, but the fact that they are at the Clippers the night before this game — a matchup that will take a lot out of the Thunder’s legs — means that they will be facing a rested Warriors squad on Thursday.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
I like Golden State to take care of the Thunder. This will be a track meet, but the Warriors will prevail, 126-121.
