Playoff races are heating up in the NBA, especially in the Western Conference. The Dallas Mavericks will host the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night in a game with huge playoff implications. Denver will come into this game with some rest, while the Mavericks will have to deal with the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night. Let’s see how the NBA odds will be for the Nuggets vs Mavericks.

Nuggets vs Mavericks 2020 NBA Game Preview & Betting Odds

Denver brings a 43-21 record into this game, and they sit on top of the Northwest Division. The Nuggets have the Utah Jazz breathing down their neck, and they can’t afford to slip up and start losing some games. Dallas enters Tuesday night with a record of 39-26, and are just one game back of the Houston Rockets in the Southwest Division. There is a great chance that this game could be a playoff preview in the Western Conference.

Nuggets Need to Defend

The Denver Nuggets are giving up just 107.4 points per game this season, and they must win games with their defense. Denver is scoring just over 110 points per game, which is slightly below league average. The Nuggets won’t overwhelm anyone with their offense, but they have the defensive identity to put up a low number.

All Star center Nikola Jokic does a little bit of everything to lead the Nuggets, but he also needs his teammates to shoot it well. Jokic leads the team with 20 points and 6.8 assists per game, and he will have the ball in his hands a ton. Jamal Murray is an important piece for this team, and he is making close to 35 percent of his shots from deep. Jokic gets the attention, but Murray is just as important.

Mavericks Might Be Shorthanded

Point guard Luka Doncic is currently nursing a hand injury, and that could force him to miss this game. Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA this season, and leads the team with 28.5 points and 8.7 assists per game, and is capable of carrying this team. Kristaps Porzingis has been playing well of late for the Mavs, and he is capable of scoring 30 points if Doncic is out of the lineup.

Dallas wants to play extremely fast when they have the ball, and they love to score points. The Mavericks enter Tuesday averaging close to 117 points per game, making them the third highest scoring team in the NBA. The Mavericks do allow over 110 points per game, but that shouldn’t be much of an issue against a Nuggets team that struggles to score.

Mavericks Pick Up Huge Home Win

Despite playing on back to back nights, and potentially without Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks are going to win this game. The Mavs have struggled at times on their home floor, but this team has still been playing well overall. Denver just doesn’t have enough offense to count on, and it’s hard to see them keeping up in this game.

Bet the Dallas Mavericks over the Denver Nuggets in this huge Western Conference showdown.
