NBA Betting: Predictions for the 2020 Easter Conference

Posted by Derrick Harper on July 27, 2020 in

The Western Conference has been the dominant conference as of late. Since 2000, the Eastern Conference has only won seven NBA titles. This year, the East thinks that they have a group of teams that have a great shot at winning this year’s NBA title. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference title so you can set down your bets against their NBA odds.

Betting Predictions for the 2020 NBA Easter Conference

Milwaukee Bucks: -185

The Bucks have breezed through the regular season, and look like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, the Bucks have a very good offense. However, the reason that they have been dominating is because of their defense. Giannis and Brook Lopez have led the Bucks defense, and even their rotation players have been stout defenders. If anyone is going to beat the Bucks, not only are they going to have to figure out how to stop Giannis, but they’re also going to have to figure out how to solve the Bucks defense.

Boston Celtics: +550

Boston may be the most versatile team in the conference. Led by Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, and Gordon Hayward, Boston can put up points with the best of them. Combine that with the fact that they can put many “positionless” lineups out on the floor that can switch 1 through 5, and they are going to be a tough out. Brad Stevens is one of the top coaches in the league, and has shown that he can “outscheme” anyone.

Toronto Raptors: +600

Many thought that when Kawhi Leonard left the Raptors, that they would become just an average team. Well, that didn’t happen, and the Raptors are currently the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. The group of players in Toronto knows how to win, and they play hard nosed defense. Nick Nurse is a great coach and knows what it takes to win a title. Toronto will give anyone they face huge problems.

Philadelphia 76ers: +750

Philadelphia has been hard to figure out this season. They have plenty of star power in Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Tobias Harris can score as well. If Embiid plays up to his capabilities, he can lead the 76ers to playoff victories. If he’s uninspired, the Sixers could be done in round 1. Brett Brown plans on moving Ben Simmons to the “4” spot, so that could be a huge change for the Sixers. If this team put an emphasis on defending, and their top players come to play, Philadelphia could be a very tough out.

Miami Heat: +1,100

Miami could be a darkhorse Eastern Conference title contender. Led by Jimmy Butler, the Heat could be a tough out for any Eastern Conference foe. Miami has a solid group of veteran leaders. Combine that with some youngsters like Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, and Tyler Herro, and you have a stout unit. Erik Spoelstra is a great coach, and he knows how to get his players to tighten up their defense in the playoffs. If Butler can get hot, and the Heat take care of the basketball, Miami has the ability to make a run at the Eastern Conference Championship.
