Why should you bet on the Warriors?

Did the Warriors get beat by 32 in Portland the other night? Yes. Did they struggle to hold off the Clippers and Atlanta after that? Absolutely. However, the last time they had a bit of a stumble, around Christmas, was followed by a period of extreme dominance. The Heat are not a pushover by any means, but that just means the line will be small enough for the Warriors to be able to cover more easily. I’m definitely not picking the Warriors to lose straight up to anyone except (maybe) the Spurs on the road. With a line under six in Miami, I’m still taking them.

Why should you put your money on Miami?

Even though Chris Bosh has still not returned to the court and Dwyane Wade is not shooting well, the Heat are still undefeated to start the second half of the regular season. In their win over Indiana the other night, the Pacers jumped out to an 11-0 lead. Hassan Whiteside had a monster game (19 points, 18 boards) and Goran Dragic lived up to his promise (24 points), and so the Heat were able to roar back to force overtime, and then dominate the extra frame to win the game by eight. The Heat have emerged from their early-season funk and are a legitimate contender in the East. This will be one of the Warriors’ toughest tests of the season so far.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I am picking Golden State to win this game. Not having Bosh will take an extra offensive dimension away from the Heat, and they won’t be able to keep up in this track meet. I’m picking the Warriors, 118-108.
