Why should you bet on the the Warriors?
When you have a team running away with the conference like Golden State is, you might expect them to rest some starters to let them build up some energy for the playoff run ahead. However, the Warriors are just the second team ever to win 70 games in a regular season, and they are focused on winning 73 — which means they have to win all three of their remaining games after dropping games at home to Boston and to Minnesota. They have been playing sloppy ball on both ends of the floor (at least for them) as of late, and they need to recalibrate their game — and the Grizzlies happen to be the opponent for Saturday against whom they need to sharpen up. I don’t expect any letdown from the Warriors.
Why should you put your money on Memphis?
The Grizzlies had lost six in a row before knocking off the Bulls, as ageless Vince Carter dropped 17 on Chicago. Memphis does have a tough schedule here, playing in Dallas the night before coming home to face a real track-meet team in the Warriors. Even so, Zach Randolph has returned from his foot injury with a vengeance, and that rousing Grizzlies victory should mean that the team is getting its head right for the playoffs.
Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction
Golden State appeared to get things right again in their dispatching of the San Antonio Spurs. I believe they will maintain similar focus and have an easy time with the Grizzlies. I’m predicting a 120-109 Warriors win.
