Denver vs Memphis NBA Odds Analysis

On Wednesday, the Memphis Grizzlies welcome the Denver Nuggets to town in NBA betting action. The Grizzlies (41-33) are in second place in the Southwest Division but are coming off a home-and-home sweep at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs (110-104 in San Antonio and 101-87 at home). The Nuggets (31-44) are in fourth place in the Northwest Division and just fell at home to Dallas, 97-88.

Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies NBA Odds Analysis

Why should you bet on the Nuggets?

The Nuggets turn the ball over a lot, and they have a hard time getting stops at key junctures, but they usually do win the rebounding battle. Even though they lost to Dallas, they outrebounded them by 13. The Grizzlies just got abused over two games by the Spurs (particularly LaMarcus Aldridge) on the boards. If they don’t address that part of their game, they won’t do well against Denver. The Grizzlies are still missing Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph from their starting rotation, and so they still are having to use backups to get the same rhythm that their starters had given them.

Why should you put your money on Memphis?

This game is an example of my Angry Revenge Theory in action. The Grizzlies are one of the better teams in the West, but they have just lost three straight, two in a row to the team ahead of them in the division. Now they welcome a Nuggets team to town that is struggling to play with energy on a nightly basis. They got outhustled by two Dallas reserves (Justin Anderson and Dwight Powell) in their loss at home and saw a backup guard post 18 points and 11 assists against them. So I could easily see the Grizzlies turning this into a big rout at home.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Grizzlies to set a firm tone from the beginning against Denver. I’m picking Memphis to win, 102-91.
