On Wednesday night, the Houston Rockets host the L.A. Clippers in NBA online betting action. The Rockets (34-33) are in third place in the Southwest Division and just routed the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Monday night, 130-81. The Clippers (42-23) are in second place in the Pacific Division and just got routed at home by the Cleveland Cavaliers, 114-90.

Why should you pick the Rockets?

The Rockets continue their Jekyll-and-Hyde ways as they approach crunch time in the NBA regular season. They ended the 12-game home winning streak of the Toronto Raptors, and then they ended the 14-game home winning streak of the Boston Celtics. Then they went to Charlotte and got beaten by 16. Then they came home and absolutely dismantled the Grizzlies. The difference is the same one that has been plaguing them all season long — when they play defense and commit to rebounding, there are few teams that can stay with them, as they showed when they made it to the Western Conference Finals last year. When they don’t commit, though, it’s pretty easy to beat them.

Why should you put your money on the Clippers?

Teams that can knock down the three easily have their way with the Clippers these days, as the Cavaliers showed when they knocked down 18 in their win on Monday night. However, if the Rockets struggle from the outside, they will have a hard time scoring against the Clippers’ interior defense. When the Clippers are playing with confidence, their track-meet offense and withering defense can be impossible for other teams to overcome.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Rockets to continue their momentum and drain the three-ball to extend the Clippers’ misery. I’m predicting a 113-108 Rocket win.
