Why should you put your money on the Cavaliers?

If you’ve been following my game previews for a while now, you know about my Angry Revenge Theory. A team gets humiliated on one particular night and then gets to face a lower-tire opponent in their next game. In that next game, the contending team unleashes all of their frustrations and gets a big win. This is how I see this game going for Cleveland, since they just lost at home to Memphis — and the Grizzlies were missing four of their starters. Tony Allen led the way for the Grizzlies with 26 points, a season high, as the Cavs just didn’t respect Memphis like they should have and ended up losing — and Sacramento is next on their schedule.

Why should you bet on Sacramento?

DeMarcus Cousins has been one of the more engimatic players in the league this season. He’s spent a lot of time bellyaching about his coach, George Karl, but then he’s also spent a lot of time dominating the inside against other teams in the NBA. The problem is consistency. When Cousins, Rajon Rondo and the rest of the team are focused, the team usually wins — but they aren’t generally focused that much. Take their loss in New Orleans. Cousins scored 40 points and had 16 rebounds. However, he turned the ball over five times, all by himself, and missed two layups in the last two minutes. That lack of focus doomed the Kings and has all season. If the Kings can stay focused, though, the Cavs are showing some inner dissension and are ripe for some more upsets.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Sacramento to give the Angry Revenge Theory a big smackdown in this game, because I don’t think the Cavs have the leadership to beat a hungry Kings team on the road. I’m picking the Kings, 109-104.
