The Cleveland Cavaliers head to Indiana to take on the Pacers in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal. The Cavaliers have won both of the first two games, including a 117-111 win in Game 2 on Monday night in which the Cavaliers held off a mighty comeback by the Pacers in the fourth period. Can the Pacers beat the Cavs in the NBA odds and stay alive in the series?

Why should you bet on the Cavaliers?

In both of the first two games, Cleveland has roared out to a big lead and then seen the Pacers mount a comeback. In Game 1, the Pacers only lost by a point, but in Game 2, the Cavaliers showed slightly more resolve in the fourth period. Even so, the Pacers trimmed an 18-point deficit to just four in the last minute. The offense was stellar for Cleveland: LeBron James had 25 points, 10 boards and seven assists; Kyrie Irving led the way with 37, and Kevin Love had 27 more. That offensive balance is what makes Cleveland so dangerous — and it is what has allowed them to win despite defensive letdowns in the first two games. If you like Cleveland in Game 3, you think they can follow a similar formula to another win.

Why should you put your money on the Pacers?

The Pacers are giving the Cavaliers a much harder time than most seven-seeds provide. Paul George put up 32 points, and Jeff Teague added 23, although he had to leave with a wrist injury during the second half. However, if the Pacers had not come unraveled during a part of the third period, when the Cavaliers outscored them 33-20, they would have been in much better position entering the final quarter. If they can avoid that sort of meltdown in Game 3, they can bring the series to 2-1.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I don’t think Indiana can win this series, but I think they will make Game 3 more interesting. I predict a 108-106 Indiana win — in comeback fashion.
