On Wednesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers (41-17) will be in Beantown to take on the Boston Celtics (38-22) in a titanic Eastern Conference matchup. The Celtics had been on a huge hot streak, winning 11 of 12, but they have dropped three of four, including a 114-98 home loss to Atlanta on Monday night. The Cavaliers have won five of six, knocking off Milwaukee, 102-95, at home on Monday night. The online betting in the NBA will keep getting more interesting as the playoff races tighten up, so take a look at all of NBA betting picks for this week.

Why should you bet on the Cavaliers?

LeBron James did return from a bout with strep throat against Milwaukee, pouring in 24 points. Kyrie Irving chipped in 25, but the game was still in doubt until the Cavaliers put up an 11-0 run midway through the fourth period to salt the game away. The Cavaliers went 9-2 in February after going just 7-8 in January, and the fact that they added Deron Williams gives them a backup point guard, and the additions of Derrick Williams and Kyle Korver in February have given them some real depth. This confidence will serve them well in Boston — but can they beat a Celtics team that had a hot January and February?

Why should you put your money on the Celtics?

When Boston lost to Atlanta on Monday, they came out ice-cold, going just 18 for 47 in the first half (38 percent) and just 39 percent for the game. Atlanta also controlled the paint, outscoring the Celtics 60-34 in the paint, and they limited Isaiah Thomas to just 19 points, ending his streak of games with 20+ points at 43 in a row, going just 4 for 21 from the field. If you like Boston against Cleveland, then you like Thomas to find his shooting touch, and you like Al Horford to show some more motivation inside than he did against Dwight Howard and the Hawks. Given that Boston wants to catch Cleveland in the East, you can depend on the energy showing up.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the run Boston has put on, and despite that loss to Atlanta, I see the Celtics come out with plenty of motivation against the defending champs. I predict a final score of Boston 104, Cleveland 101.
