Charlotte at Washington NBA Betting Preview, Pick & TV Info

Posted by Peter Boysen on April 3, 2017 in

Looking to place some NBA betting action this week? Take a look at our preview of the tilt between Charlotte and Washington on Tuesday night. The Hornets (36-41) ride in on a three-game winning streak, including a 113-101 upset of the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road on Sunday night, the franchise’s first win ever at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Wizards (46-31) left town on a high note, beating Cleveland by 12, but they have dropped three straight now, including a 139-115 spanking at the hands of Golden State on Sunday.

Why should you bet on the Hornets?

Charlotte is pulling out all the stops to try and finagle that eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, and Kemba Walker dropped 29 points on Oklahoma City as the Hornets won there for the first time in nine tries. Russell Westbrook had his 40th triple double of the season, but it was not enough for the Thunder to win. Frank Kaminsky put up 18 points for Charlotte, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist chipped in 16. Another key was the 18 steals that the Hornets took — their highest total in more than four years. They turned 24 Thunder turnovers into 35 points. The Hornets are behind Chicago, Indiana and Miami — all of whom are tied for seventh, so expect them to bring that desperation again on Tuesday in Washington.

Why should you put your money on the Wizards?

Washington has taken a beating on this road trip, losing to the Clippers, the Jazz and the Warriors. Stephen Curry hung 42 points and eight assists on the Wizards on Sunday, dropping nine three-balls on the night. John Wall did put up 15 points and 11 assists, and Bojan Bogdanovic and Bradley Beal each chipped in 20 points, but the Wizards simply could not keep up with the Golden State attack. The Wizards did get some good news from Markieff Morris, who returned to the lineup from a right ankle sprain and put up 13 points.

Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

Despite their road struggles, I like Washington to right the ship at home and dispatch a Charlotte team that is in the lower half of the East table for a reason. I predict a final score of Washington 108, Charlotte 103.
