Why should you bet on Charlotte?

Kemba Walker did not do much for the Hornets in Games 1 or 2 in Miami, but he erupted once the series went back to Charlotte. In the fourth quarter of Game 4, he scored 11 in a row for the Hornets in the key stretch that put them up on the Heat, and Courtney Lee hit two big free throws with 4.6 seconds left on the clock to salt away the victory. Jeremy Lin chipped in 21 when the Hornets were in danger of falling too far behind in the first half, keeping things close until Walker heated up. If the team can show that much balance on Miami’s home court, this could be three wins in a row for the Hornets.

Why should you put your money on the Heat?

In Games 1 and 2, the Heat dominated the inside, led by Hassan Whiteside and Luol Deng. However, in Charlotte, that duo was not nearly as influential, and Charlotte controlled the boards. In Game 4, the Hornets outscored the Heat 44-30 in the paint. In Miami, though, the Heat won Games 1 and 2 by an average of 22 points. When the series shifts back south, look for Whiteside and Deng to play with more energy in the paint and for the team to pick up its earlier momentum.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Heat to take control of the series again by resetting their offense and committing to strong play inside. I’m predicting a 99-92 Miami win.
