Boston at Chicago Game #3 NBA Playoffs Betting Odds & Preview

The top-seeded Boston Celtics head to Chicago in a world of trouble, as the eighth-seeded Bulls won both of the first two games in Boston, including a 111-97 thrashing of the Celtics on Tuesday night. If the Celtics can’t win Game 3, it will be extremely difficult for them to get out of the first round, let alone make it to the NBA Finals. Will the Celtics have the NBA odds in their favor in Game 3?

Why should you bet on the Celtics?

The Boston Celtics didn’t make it to the top seed by playing poor basketball. They kept Bobby Portis from torching them (he had 19 points off the bench in Game 1), and they came out with more energy, running out to a 7-0 lead and pulling down the first four boards of the game.

However, as the first period wore on, they still showed very little of the tenacity that lifted them  to a win at Golden State earlier this regular season. Isaiah Thomas led the way for Boston with 20 points, but 16 Celtic turnovers led to 23 points for the Bulls. If you like Boston, you see them coming out with a renewed sense of energy that will last more than the first few minutes of the game.

Why should you put your money on the Bulls?

Rajon Rondo has apparently decided to turn his game on, and the Bulls are on fire as a result. He put up 11 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds in Tuesday’s win, and Dwyane Wade turned back the clock to put up 22 points. Robin Lopez romped inside for 18 points and eight rebounds.

Jimmy Butler joined Wade with 22 points. This offensive balance, combined with ferocious offensive rebounding and a physically imposing defense, makes the Bulls a scary opponent. They outrebounded Boston 42-28 on Tuesday night. Keeping this synergy going will propel the Bulls to a 3-0 lead.

Free Pick and Final Score Prediction

I see the Celtics coming out with a renewed sense of purpose and taking a game in Chicago on Friday night. I predict a 99-96 Boston win.
