As we’re just over a quarter of the way through the NBA season, things are starting to get a little more clear. We’re starting to see who the contenders are, and what teams are still not quite ready to be a playoff team. Let’s take a look at some of the top upcoming games so you can set down your bets against their NBA odds.

NBA 2021 Top Games to Watch This Weekend

Friday, January 29 –  Milwaukee Bucks @ New Orleans Pelicans

While things haven’t gone the best for Stan Van Gundy’s Pelicans this season, they still have a young and exciting roster that could be very good a year or two down the road. Zion Williamson is a star in the making, while Brandon Ingram is turning into one of the league’s best scorers. This team has a lot of draft capital to its name, so the Pelicans could do some big things soon.

As for the Bucks, everyone knows about Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s one of the premier players in the world, and once he gets a consistent perimeter shot, he’ll be nearly unstoppable. At 10-6, the Bucks started off the season slow. They’ve gone 7-3 in their last 10, and are now looking like one of, if not the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Friday, January 29 – Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz

The Jazz are the hottest team in the NBA right now. Winners of nine straight, the Jazz are only a half game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the top spot in the Western Conference standings. Donovan Mitchell is on his way to another All-Star appearance, while Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson, and Rudy Gobert have also played huge roles in the early season success of the Jazz.

As for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic is their man! Doncic is one of the top all-around players in the world. He is a triple-double machine. Unfortunately for Doncic, the Mavericks have gotten off to a slow start. They’re currently sitting in the 10th spot in the Western Conference playoff race with an 8-9 record. Kristaps Porzingis returned to the lineup a few days ago, and is still getting his legs underneath him. When Dallas gets everything put together, they have a roster capable of making some noise.

Saturday, January 30 – Los Angeles Lakers @ Boston Celtics

These two will renew their long standing rivalry on Saturday night. The Lakers own the best record in basketball, coming into this one with a 14-4 mark. Led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers have won 8 of their last 10. The Lakers are playing the role of Road Warriors this season, as they are undefeated away from the Staples Center with a 10-0 record.

The Celtics have had their ups and downs this season. When they have a full roster, they have the ability to be pretty good. Kemba Walker returned from injury, but as he returned, then Jayson Tatum missed a few games. Boston should have their core players for Saturday night’s game. With Tatum, Walker, and Jaylen Brown, Boston has three very dynamic players. Tatum is one of the top scorers in the league, while Brown has become one of the most versatile players, as he can score, defend, and rebound. This should be a good matchup between two old rivals.
