Top NBA Betting Picks of the Week – October 21st Edition

Los Angeles Lakers @ Los Angeles Clippers – 10/22/19

Los Angeles seemed to be the center of the NBA world this past summer. Anthony Davis became a Laker, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are now on the Clippers. These two Staples Center roommates will square off on Opening Night. LeBron James got what he wanted when the Lakers finally acquired Anthony Davis.

The Lakers had to give up a lot of assets, but everyone is looking for big things from the trio of James, Davis, and Kyle Kuzma.

The Clippers pulled the coup of the offseason when they were able to pull off a huge trade for Paul George, which then led to the free agent signing of Leonard. The battle for LA should be a fun way to start the season.

Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers – 10/23/19

After last year’s disappointing season, the Boston Celtics are back, and are looking to make some noise in the Eastern Conference. With Kyrie Irving leaving for the Nets, the Celtics were able to sign Kemba Walker. In putting Walker with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Heyward, and Marcus Smart, the Celtics feel that they have a great shot at winning the East.

Standing in their way will be the Philadelphia 76ers. Gone are Jimmy Butler and JJ Redick, but Tobias Harris stayed, and the Sixers acquired Josh Richardson and Al Horford to go along with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. These two teams should be in the playoff hunt.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Houston Rockets – 10/24/19

The new look Rockets will take on one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. James Harden now has Russell Westbrook as his new sidekick. The Rockets won’t have a ton of depth, but they’ll still put up a ton of points.

As for the Bucks, with the exception of Malcolm Brogdon who left as a free agent, they’ll return their core group. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a perimeter jumper away from being one of the most unguardable players in the league. Harden and Russ versus the Greek Freak should make for an entertaining game.

Los Angeles Clippers @ Golden State Warriors -10/24/19

What a difference a year makes. At this time last season, the Warriors were the consensus pick to win another NBA title. With Kevin Durant leaving, and an injury to Klay Thompson, many think that the Warriors won’t even make the playoffs this season.

Steph Curry will have to carry the new-look Warriors this season. Draymond Green along with newly acquired DeAngelo Russell will have to help Curry in the scoring department. If the Warriors can hang around, Thompson could return in late March. We’ll see if the Warriors have what it takes to hang with the Clippers.
